The situation of overweight and the risk factors in adults

Abstract:
Study design: 2 stages: cross - sectional study on 896 adults to assess nutritional status then selected random 50 overweight adults and 50 normal adults to recall for interview of some factors which related to overweight status. The results showed that: 11% overweight, in a man (12.4%) is higher than women (5.9%), highest at 50-60 age group. The factors related to overweight status: consumption of energy rich foods (oil or fat, fried food, sweet foods...) energy in food intake and average income were higher in overweight group (p<0.01 and p<0.05, respectively), less physical activity, stable activity and time for television, amusement were higher in overweight group, also (p<0.05).
