- Abstract: Priapism is a condition in which persistent erection occurs unaccompanied by sexual excitation or desire. A case of priapism who underwent corpus-saphenous shunt procedure is in here described. Although attempts to relieve the erection were tried by ice water enema, evacuation of the sludged blood by needle aspiration and heparin injection, all conservative therapy failed. Prompt subsidence of erection was followed by corpus-saphenous shunt procedure.
