Abstract:
In the 20th century, the profession of hematology and blood transfusion obtained many major achievements. This paper introduced 3 achievements of the profession including researches on the hematopoietic stem cells, marrow transplantation and blood transfusion: blood preservation, finding of the leukocyte and thrombocyte antigens, separation of blood components and total blood transfusion, blood transfusion safety, and management of accidents due to blood transfusion
