Abstract:
On a study the serum IgE and CEA concentrations, number of lymphocytes and Mantoux reaction of 100 TB and lung cancer patients, has shown that serum IgE concentrations vary widely in TB patients (range <120 KUI/I -> 1000KUI/I), no statistically significant differences in TB groups with AFB (-) and AFB(+). It seems there is a favorable relation between the number of lymphocytes and serum IgE concentrations. (P< 0,05). The serum CEA concentrations of cancer patients are higher than this one in TB patients. None of these cancer patients has serum CEA level < 0,5ng/ml, but 17,64% of TB patients has CEA > 0,5ng/ml. There are not statistical significant differences of serum CEA level in smokers and non-smokers groups. Tuberculosis’ test (Mantoux) it seems depend on the number of lymphocytes in peripheral blood. In group Mantoux test negative, absolute number of lymphocytes were less than in group Mantoux test positive with statistically significant differences.
