Abstract:
Total PSA (tPSA) and PSA (fPSA) in serum were determined by MEIA performed on IMX systems of ABBOTT (America). t PSA of 80 healthy men, ages fro 40 to 80, and fPSA of 17 among them were measured. 222 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) (Diagnosed by clinical and ultrasonography examinations), and 32 patients with prostatic examination) were determined for tPSA. Among them, 51 of BPH and 11 of PC patients were determined both tPSA and fPSA. Here are our findings: The normal values of serum tPSA is increasing with age (p<0.05), normal range of tPSA concentration is from 0 to approximately 6 ng/ml. The mean ratio of fPSA/tPSA is 0.27 (0.08. 45.4% of patients in the BPH group level and 33% of patients with ratio of fPSA/tPSA less than 0.19. The increased serum tPSA level and the fPSA/tPSA ratio below, 019 are observed in 100% patients of PC group.
