Abstract:
A clinical observation was made on the injuries of Genitourinary tract of in-patients in the Department of Urology. Seoul Red Cross Hospital during the period from January, 1972 to December, 1977. The results were as follows; 1) Of 605 cases hospitalized, 55 cases were injuries of Genitourinary tract, giving a ratio of 8.4%. The sex ratio, male to female. 5.1: 1. Favorable age was in from 10 to 40 years. 2) Traffic accident was the most frequent cause of the injuries (49. 1%). 3) The urethra was involved most frequently (54. 5%), the kidney in 18.2% 4) Nephrectomy was performed 2 cases (20%) of 10 cases renal injuries. 5) The ureteral injury was occurred during pelvic surgery. 6) 19 cases of 30 urethral injuries and 3 cases of 8 bladder injuries were accompanied with pelvic bone fracture.
