Abstract:
One hundred and sixty seven cases of tumors of genito-urinary tract admitted during the period from Sept l959 to Aug. 1969 were studied statistically in the Department of Urology, Yonsei medical college hospital and following results were obtained. 1. During the period, 1,405 cases, (1,O49 males, 356 females) hospitalized, 167 cases (143 males and 24 females) had tumors of the genito-urinary tracts, giving a rate of 11.88% (male 10.17%, female 1.7l%), 2. In l67 cases of the genito-urinary tracts, 58 cases or 34.73% were benign tumors and 109 cases .or 65.27% were malignant tumors. 3. A gradual tendency of annual increase of the tumor is observed. 4. Of 167 cases 135 cases or 80.8% were seen by us at the age of 40 or more, and 32 cases or 19.2% at the age of 39 years or below. 5. Of the tumors, 56 cases or 33.53% were vasical, 54 cases or 32.82% prostatic, 23 cases or 13.75% renal, 10 cases or 5.88% penile, urethral and testicular, and 2 cases or 1.I3% ureteral and epididymal, the lowest 6, Transitional cell carcinoma of bladder is observed in 29.34% of all tumors, Squamous cell carcinoma of penis in 5.88%, Papilloma of urethra in 5. 39%, Adenoma of prostate in 4.17% and Seminoma of testis in 3.59%.
