Some assessments via 2524 cases of gastroduodenal endoscopy at Post Hospital during 3 years

Abstract:
The study was conducted on 2524 cases with symptoms of gastroduodenal conditions. Age of patients ranged from 7 to 86 years old. The participants underwent physical examination and gastroduodenal endoscopy. It was found that there was no difference between post staffs and those of other industries in rate of gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer or gastric cancer as well as in rate of Helicobacter pylori infection. Endoscopic diagnosis is high consistent with histological findings in inflammatory and ulcer conditions and low consistent in normal, polyp and gastric cancer condition. Rate of bowel dysplasia is 22.9% and of heteroplasia is 6.26%. Rate of patients with combination dysplasia and heteroplasia is 3.15%. There was not relationship between rate of dysplasia and heteroplasia with age. Most of patients with bowel dysplasia and heteroplasia have high rate of HP infection
