Evaluation of laparoscopy (LS) and fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) in the diagnosis of chronic hepatitis (CH), liver cirrhosis (LC) and hepato primary carcinoma (HPC) phase hepatomegaly

Abstract:
Total 95 patients were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 included 25 patients with CH. Group 2 included 30 patients with LC and 40 patients with HCP were involved in groups 3. All of these patients underwent LS and ultrasound and received FNAB under LS with aims: evaluation of diagnostic value of LS and FNAB under LS for CH, LC and HPC phase hepatomegaly. The author concluded that histology examination provided the sensitivity of 100% in the group 1 (24 patients) and 80% in group 2. Cytology examination provided the sensitivity of 95% in group 3. 1 patient had normal liver and 8 patients had been undiagnosed
