- Abstract: Smoking-related interstitial fibrosis (SRIF) is characterized by marked alveolar septal fibrosis seen as distinct thick collagen bundles, along with emphysema and respiratory bronchiolitis. In 2010, SRIF was deemed a new entity that differed from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) clinically, pathologically, and radiologically. No case of SRIF has been reported in Korea and it is rare worldwide. Here, we report the 1-year follow-up of three cases of SRIF.
