Abstract:
A clinical observation was made on bladder tumors of the patients seen in the Department of Urology , Seoul National University Hospital during the period from July. 1967 to June, 1978. The following results were obtained: 1. During the period. 4312 patients were hospitalized, there were 381 cases of bladder tumors giving a rate of 8.8%. 2. The sex ratio was 4.3: 1 with 309 male and 72 female, and 75.1% of the cases were in the age group of 41-70. 3. Hematuria was the most common symptom and occurred in 78.0 %. 4. 76.2% of the cases visited to hospital within one year after the occurrence of initial symptom. 5. Among 147 cases in which IVP was performed. 66.0 % of the cases revealed normal upper urinary tract, and filling defects in bladder was observed in 61.2% of the cases. 6. Pathologic examination was possible on 210 cases.
