Abstract: Breast augmentation is a surgical method to enlarge the breasts and to enhance women＇s body image and self-confidence. Implant-based augmentation mammaplasty is currently the most common cosmetic breast surgery, and its outcomes are of great concern to the surgeons. The choice of an appropriate implant is crucial for the postoperative results. This article reviews the types of breast implants, principles of selection, and factors to be considered when choosing implants.
