- Abstract: Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is a prevalent and signif-icant complication of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, representing one of the primary causes of end-stage renal disease worldwide.Non-coding RNA is a class of heterogeneous RNA molecules, mainly divided into circular RNA(circRNA),mi-croRNA(miRNA)and long non-coding RNA(lncRNA).Nu-merous studies have shown that non-coding RNA can be used as a potential target and biomarker for DN therapy.Recent studies have highlighted the efficacy of active components in traditional Chinese medicine as either primary or alternative therapies for DN by modulating ncRNA expression, thereby yielding favorable clinical outcomes. This review primarily focuses on the advance-ments in circRNA,miRNA,and lncRNA research within diabet-ic nephropathy while exploring the current status of Chinese medicine interventions targeting ncRNAs in this context. The aim is to provide new targets and new ideas for exploring new prevention measures of DN.
