Abstract: Percutaneous vertebroplasty is the main surgical therapeutic procedure for vertebral fractures and osteolytic metastases.Although the technique has been widely used clinically,recent studies have reported an increasing number of complications.Heart rupture and pulmonary embolism caused by bone cement leakage are the extremely rare and serious complications.We herein present a case of cardiac rupture and pulmonary embolism caused by bone cement after percutaneous vertebroplasty.
