Grounded theory research on the current situation and countermeasures of cultural construction from the perspective of middle managers in secondary public hospital

Abstract:
Objective:To explore the attitude and views of middle managers of secondary public hospitals on the cultural construction of secondary public hospitals, so as to provide reference suggestions for promoting cultural construction and serving the high-quality development of hospitals.Methods:Using the purposive sampling method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 middle managers of Beijing Puren Hospital from September to October 2022. Grounded theory method was applied for analysis, and NVivo 12.0 software was used for qualitative analysis of the interview contents.Results:After three-level coding, 755 free nodes, 65 tree nodes, 12 categories, 5 main categories, and 3 core categories of "personal perception", "organizational input" and "policy" related to hospital culture construction were mined.Conclusions:Secondary public hospitals should adhere to the combination of cultural construction and the actual development of the hospital, improve personal cognitive abilities, stimulate subjective initiative, strengthen organizational investment, create communication platforms, improve policy guarantees and promote institutional construction.
