Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of listen, establish, adopt, reinforce, name, strengthen (LEARNS) health education model in outpatient colonoscopy patients. Methods:From March to August 2022, 90 outpatient patients who underwent colonoscopy examination at the Endoscopy Center of Peking University First Hospital were selected as the study subject using convenience sampling. The patients were divided into a control group and an experimental group using a random number table method, with 45 patients in each group. The control group adopted conventional health education, while the experimental group adopted the LEARNS health education model on the basis of the control group. We compared the scores of bowel preparation knowledge, bowel preparation status, and satisfaction with health education between two groups of patients. Results:After intervention, the bowel preparation knowledge and satisfaction with health education in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.01). There was no statistically significant difference in bowel preparation ( P>0.05) . Conclusions:The LEARNS health education model can effectively improve the knowledge of bowel preparation and satisfaction with health education of outpatient colonoscopy patients.
