Abstract:
Guidelines related to preoperative fasting have been issued and implemented for a long time at home and abroad, but the poor clinical transformation of the guidelines has led to a widespread phenomenon of excessive preoperative fasting in children undergoing elective surgery. This article reviews the status of clinical transformation of preoperative fasting related guidelines for children undergoing elective surgery at home and abroad, the factors that hinder the transformation of the guidelines, and the intervention measures to promote the transformation of the guidelines to clinical practice. The purpose of this article is to provide reference for the clinical transformation of fasting guidelines for children undergoing elective surgery.
