Abstract:
Objective:To explore the situational factors of insomnia patients' choice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing technology, so as to provide reference for the promotion of appropriate TCM nursing technology.Methods:Using the qualitative research method of grounded theory and the purposive sampling method, 15 insomniacs who visited the TCM Nursing Clinic of Shanghai East Hospital affiliated to Tongji University from October to November 2021 were selected for semi-structured interview. The interview data were collated and analyzed using the three-tier coding.Results:The overall situation for insomnia patients to choose TCM nursing technology could be divided into subject situation (the perception of insomnia severity, the cognition and belief of TCM nursing, and the effect experience of TCM nursing technology), subject conditions (basic conditions, psychological preparation, knowledge literacy), and external factors (the promotion of appropriate TCM nursing technology, and the construction of hospital community family integration), including 18 concepts. The three situational elements were different from each other and worked together to stimulate, regulate and promote the TCM nursing behavior of insomnia patients.Conclusions:The medical and nursing staff should distinguish the different roles of the subjective situation, subjective conditions and external factors, constantly adjust and improve the TCM nursing measures, promote the appropriate TCM nursing technology in insomnia, and meet the nursing needs of patients.
