Effects of management improvement based on information tracking system management on application and maintenance of laparoscope in Operating Room

Abstract:
Objective:To explore effects of shared and centralized laparoscope based on information tracking system on application and maintenance of laparoscope in Operating Room.Methods:The relevant data of 6 sets of laparoscopic equipment used in the Operating Room of the 904 Hospital of Wuxi Joint Logistic Support Center from January to October 2019 were collected to analyze the reasons for unreasonable management of laparoscopic equipment. Based on this, the shared and centralized management method of laparoscopy based on the information tracking system was developed, and the management improvement was implemented in January 2020. The operating conditions and equipment maintenance of 6 laparoscopes in the Operating Room from January to October 2020 were recorded. The random cluster sampling method was used to investigate the satisfaction of surgeons on the use of laparoscopes and the satisfaction of doctors in 2019 and 2020 was compared.Results:From January to May 2020, the monthly laparoscope operation volume was 108 cases, 18 cases per set, and the daily use time of laparoscope was 8 hours. From June to October, the monthly laparoscope operation volume was 378 cases, 63 cases per set, which was higher than that in the same period of 2019. And the daily use time of laparoscopes was shorter than that in 2019, and it only took 12 hours a day, which was 92.3% of the time spent in 2019. The waiting time of consecutive operations with the same laparoscope in 2020 was shorter than that in 2019 ( P<0.05) . The timely rate of laparoscopic maintenance in the Operating Room in 2020 was slightly higher than that in 2019, and the amount of equipment failure and operation was lower than that in 2019, but there was no statistical significance between groups ( P>0.05) . The equipment maintenance cost of the Operating Room in 2020 was lower than that in 2019 (53 074 yuan vs. 84 116 yuan) . The satisfaction rate of surgeons on laparoscopic use in 2020 (96.88%) was higher than that in 2019 (75.00%) ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The application effect of shared and centralized laparoscope based on information tracking system is good in the management of laparoscope equipment in the Operating Room. It can improve the turnover rate of laparoscopes, ensure the timely maintenance of laparoscopic faults and calculate the cost borne by each department to realize the sharing of high-quality medical resources.
