Abstract: Histone deacetylase 3(HDAC3)is an epigenetic modification enzyme,which participates in the occur-rence and development of atherosclerosis(As).It is significant to search for effective HDAC3 inhibitors for the treatment of atherosclerosis.This article reviews the relationship between HDAC3 and atherosclerosis,the latest research progress of HDAC3 inhibitors,and the therapeutic effects of some traditional Chinese medicine on cardiovascular diseases by inhibi-ting HDAC3.It aims to provide new ideas for developing anti-atherosclerotic drugs targeting HDAC3.
