Abstract:
Objective:To explore the real experience of multi-lateral knowledge flow of elderly care practitioners, in order to provide reference for the formulation of knowledge flow plan of elderly care practitioners. Methods:Using the purpose sampling method, 7 elderly care practitioners who received training in the training course for elderly care teachers of Red Cross Society of China (Nanjing Class) were selected as the research objects in September 2020. The phenomenological method was used to conduct focus group interviews. With the help of Nvivo 10.0 statistical software, the data were analyzed according to the 7-step Colaizzi phenomenological analysis method, and the theme was summarized and refined. Results:A total of 28 sub-nodes and 8 tree nodes, such as knowledge flow role, knowledge flow path, knowledge flow content and knowledge practice application, were organized and constructed, and 4 themes were extracted. The first theme was government procurement of services and organizational training to drive the flow of knowledge in the formal environment of elderly care practitioners. The informal environment relied on the creation and exchange of business relationships, and the flow of knowledge and stock were insufficient. The second theme was that elderly care practitioners only played the role of recipient in vertical knowledge flow, while they played the dual role of provider and recipient when experiencing horizontal knowledge flow, but they still focused on receiving. The third theme was that focusing on work practices and clear goal-oriented knowledge flow content made it easier to obtain positive self-perceptions of elderly care practitioners. The fourth theme was that positive support could improve the passive dilemma of information processing after the knowledge flow of elderly care practitioners. Conclusions:Opportunities for multilateral knowledge flow among elderly care practitioners are unevenly distributed, mainly through government-driven management participation in formal training. Informal environment knowledge flow and stock was insufficient, which was lack of active two-way sharing consciousness. Elderly care institutions need to strengthen internal and external incentives, cooperate with policy implementation, stimulate the positive environment to support the practice of knowledge transformation and innovation.
