Abstract:
Objective:To explore the current status of hypothyroidism patients with depression, and analyze the influencing factors of depression in patients with hypothyroidism. Methods:This study is a cross-sectional study. From March 2018 to March 2020, convenience sampling was used to select 110 patients with hypothyroidism in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University as the research object. The General Information Questionnaire, Hypothyroidism Health Knowledge Score, Social Support Rating Scale, Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale were used to investigate the patients. Single factor analysis and multivariate Logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of depression in patients with hypothyroidism. A total of 110 questionnaires were distributed, and 110 valid questionnaires were returned, and the valid response rate was 100%.Results:The Hamilton Depression Scale score of 110 patients with hypothyroidism was (12.54±2.97) , and 45 cases had depression, accounting for 40.91%. Among the 45 patients with depression, 21 patients also had anxiety, accounting for 46.67%. There were statistically significant differences in gender, postoperative hypothyroidism, severity of hypothyroidism, drug replacement therapy, perimenopausal period, economic income, and social support between depressed patients and non-depressed patients ( P<0.05) . Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that gender, severity of hypothyroidism, drug replacement therapy, perimenopausal period, and social support were influencing factors of depression in patients with hypothyroidism ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The incidence of depression in patients with hypothyroidism is relatively high. Gender, severity of hypothyroidism, drug replacement therapy, perimenopausal period, and social support are influencing factors for depression.
