Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effect of body language communication based on the connect, introduce, communicate, ask, respond and exit (CICARE) communication mode in pediatric nursing. Methods:From January 2019 to January 2020, convenience sampling was used to select 100 children who were hospitalized in the Pediatrics Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. Children were divided into intervention group and control group according to the random number table method, each with 50 cases. Patients in control group received the conventional communication method, and intervention group used body language communication based on the CICARE communication model. We compared the compliance behavior of children before and after nursing and the disease knowledge of the children's family members between two groups. Results:After intervention, the scores of compliance behavior of the two groups of children were higher than those before intervention, and the score of compliance behavior of children in intervention group was higher than that of control group; the knowledge scores of disease care, medication, diet, and safety awareness of the children's family members were higher than those of control group, and the differences were all statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Body language communication based on the CICARE communication model can effectively improve children's compliance behaviors, and improve the understanding of disease-related knowledge of children's family members, which is worthy of clinical application.
