Abstract:
This paper summarizes the current situation and influencing factors of the cultivation of geriatric nursing personnel in China. Starting from the phenomenon that there are few types of geriatric related majors and the serious shortage of professional students, it analyzes that the shortage of young professional teachers and the low salary of graduates of geriatric related majors are the main bottleneck restricting its development. In order to solve the problem of shortage of geriatric nursing personnel, it explores solutions from following three aspects, including broadening enrollment channels and expanding certificate education, establishing a credit bank to achieve a gradient and sustainable nursing professional development and training both internally and externally to cultivate teaching staff.
