Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the current status of fear of falling in community-dwelling elderly people with hypertension and analyze the influencing factors.Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, 270 community-dwelling elderly people with hypertension who established health records in multiple communities in a city from May 1, 2019 to July 31, 2019 were selected as the research objects.General information questionnaire, fear of falling assessment questionnaire, Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) , Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) , Simple Frailty Questionnaire (FRAIL) , Berg Balance Scale (BBS) , Time Up and Go Test (TUGT) and Home Falls and Accidents Screening Tool (HOME FAST) were used to investigate them.Results:Among 270 elderly patients with hypertension, 144 (53.3%) had fears of falling.Logistic regression analysis showed that age, depression, frailty, mobility, and balance ability were the influencing factors for the fear of falling in community-dwelling elderly people with hypertension ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The incidence of fear of falling is higher in community-dwelling elderly people with hypertension and fear of falling is associated with age, depression, frailty, mobility, and balance ability. It is necessary to pay attention to the safety prevention and control and psychological evaluation and support of elderly patients with hypertension to reduce their fear of falling.
