Abstract:
Objective:To explore the correlations between quality of life and mental resilience and coping style of primary caregivers of patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods:The primary caregivers of 90 patients with Parkinson's disease from 3 hospitals in Zhejiang Province from June 2017 to June 2019 were selected as research objects. The Quality of Life Scale, the Mental Resilience Scale and the Coping Style Scale were used to investigate and analyze the correlation between the quality of life of the primary caregivers and mental resilience and coping style. Results:The total scores of quality of life, mental resilience, positive coping style and negative coping style of 90 primary caregivers were respectively (158.17±4.94) , (55.67±6.45) , (23.64±3.47) and (7.88±2.73) . Pearson correlation analysis showed that the quality of life of the primary caregivers was positively correlated with the optimistic dimension, tenacity dimension and self-strength dimension in the mental resilience scale ( P<0.05) , positively correlated with positive coping styles ( P<0.05) , and negatively correlated with negative coping styles ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The primary caregivers of patients with Parkinson's disease have a low quality of life and poor mental resilience. Their quality of life is closely related to mental resilience and coping styles. Clinical medical staff can develop corresponding measures to improve the level of mental resilience of caregivers and encourage caregivers to adopt positive coping styles so as to improve their quality of life.
