Abstract:
With the development of oral health care for all people, the development of dental nurses has become an inevitable trend. This article describes the characteristics of the cultivation and practice of dental assistants and dental hygienists abroad and the current status of dental nurses in China. It points out that the development of dental nurses in China is in its infancy; the foundation of professional education is relatively weak; the curriculum system is not systemic and standardized; the assessment and certification system has not yet been unified; and the scope of responsibilities needs to be expanded. It then proposes to consolidate the professional education of dental nurses, provide training for dental nurses based on job requirements, form a unified dental nurse evaluation and certification system, and expand the scope of responsibilities of dental nurses, in order to promote the development of dental nurses in China.
