Abstract: Objective:To explore the nursing needs of cataract patients in national poverty-stricken counties.Methods:Totally 198 cataract patients from Wangmo County (a national poverty-stricken county) in Guizhou Province between January and October 2018 were selected by convenient sampling, and investigated with the Cataract Patient Nursing Need Questionnaire.Results:The physiological help need rate of the 198 cataract patients was 71.72%-91.41%, with an average of 82.70%; the safe hospital information need rate was 76.77%-96.46%, with an average of 88.18%; the health education need rate was 76.26%-97.47%, with an average of 84.34%; the emotional and psychological support need rate was 57.58%-97.98%, with an average of 81.23%.Conclusions:At present, cataract patients in national poverty-stricken counties all have nursing needs, and it is necessary to formulate scientific, reasonable and effective nursing measures according to their nursing needs.
