Abstract:
Objective:To evaluate effects of home-based exercise on symptom clusters in patients with lung neoplasms. Methods:Randomized controlled trials (RCT) and quasi-experimental studies on the application of home-based exercise in patients with lung neoplasms were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, China Biology Medicine disc (CBM), China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI) , Wanfang database, Chinese Sci-Tech Periodicals Database (VIP) and other Chinese and English databases, and the retrieval period was from database construction to December 2018. After 2 researchers respectively screened literatures, assessed quality and extracted data, Meta-analysis was performed using Stata12.0.Results:A total of 12 literatures were involved. The results of Meta-analysis showed that home-based exercise had effects on the emotional and psychological symptoms, some fatigue related symptoms and some gastrointestinal symptoms of patients with lung neoplasms ( P<0.05), but it had no significant effect on the specific symptoms of lung neoplasms ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Home-based exercise can reduce emotional and psychological symptoms, some fatigue related symptoms and some gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with lung neoplasms, but it did not significantly reduce specific symptoms of lung neoplasms. In the future, high-quality and large-sample research is needed to further explore the intervention effects of home-based exercise on symptom clusters in patients with lung neoplasms.
