Qualitative study on working experience of nurses with master degree in rotation period

Abstract: Objective? To explore the working experience of nurses with master degree in different departments duringrotation period. Methods? Using the phenomenological method of qualitative research, 15 nurses with regularly trained masters' degree from December 2018 to March 2019 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected for in-depth interviews. Theme analysis was used to analyze data and refine themes. Results? A total of 5 themes were extracted as follows: diversification of work motivation, strengths and weaknesses of "contradictory" , strong thirst for knowledge, poor sense of belonging and desire for career development. Conclusions? The nurses with regularly trained master's degree showed strong work enthusiasm and curiosity during their rotation period, but they expressed work pressure and lack of career planning. Nursing managers are advised to pay attention to listening to the voice of the nurses with Master's degree and provide them with opportunities and platforms to help them make career planning and meet the needs of career development.
