Abstract:
Currently, non-invasive ventilation (NIV) has been widely used in the treatment of respiratory failure, and reasonable early application can prevent the progression of the disease as well as avoid the damage caused by tracheal intubation and invasive ventilation. However, the failure of NIV means that the time for intubation may be delayed, which will increase the risk of poor prognosis of patients. The causes of NIV failure are complex. A large number of clinical studies have explored the risk factors of NIV failure in different diseases, different stages of diseases and different populations, and put forward a variety of predictive indicators, which are worthy of reference in clinical practice.
