Abstract:
Objective? To explore the effects of humanized nursing care on juvenile patients receiving treatment for 131I differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Methods? Totally 23 juvenile DTC patients admitted in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from September 1st, 2016 to April 30th, 2018 were selected by cluster sampling. The patients received isolated treatment and humanized nursing care including both conventional and psychological nursing care in cubicles through video intercom for the whole course. Results? The patients showed no obvious discomfort during the treatment except 2 patients suffered mild adverse effects (nausea). Moreover, the 23 juvenile patients showed good mental state during the hospital stay, without any anxiety or depression. They were highly compliant and cooperated with medical and nursing workers and the treatment course completed successfully. Conclusions? Targeted and humanized nursing care based on patients' age, sex, educational background and character can reduce the patients' discomfort and improve their compliance, treatment outcomes and satisfaction.
