Abstract:
bjective? To investigate the status quo of comfort with touch in clinical nurses and to analyze the effects of compassion fatigue and professional attitude on comfort with touch. Methods? The nurses from 3 hospitals in Zhejiang province were selected by convenient sampling and investigated with Nurses' Comfort with Touch Scale (NCTS), The Chinese version of Compassion Fatigue Short Scale (C-CF-Short Scale) and Clinical Nurses' Professional Attitude Scale (CNPAS) between March and June 2018. Totally 622 questionnaires were distributed and 583 valid questionnaires were collected in this study. Results? The NCTS of the 583 clinical nurses was (3.35±0.89); the C-CF-Short Scale score was (49.73±14.58); and the CNPAS score was (5.11±1.42). According to multivariate regression analysis, compassion fatigue, sex, professional attitude, and hospital grade were the factors affecting comfort with touch. Conclusions? Nursing managers should pay attention to the comfort with touch in clinical nurses, identity compassion fatigue timely in clinical nurses, and enhance their sense of professional value in order to improve the quality of their clinical nursing service.
