Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of evidence-based nursing on postoperative nutriture and complications in patients with thoracic cancer. Methods A total of 256 patients with thoracic cancer admitted in the Fifth People's Hospital of Datong from August 2014 to May 2018 were selected by convenient sampling.Totally 126 patients admitted between August 2014 and June 2017 were divided into the control group who received conventional nursing care post surgery, while another 130 patients admitted between July 2017 to May 2018 were divided into the observation group who received evidence-based nursing care. The content of albumin and hemoglobin, pain scores, anxiety and depression scores, and the incidence rate of complications were compared between the two groups before surgery and 1 month after surgery. Results The content of albumin in the observation group 1 month post surgery was higher than that before surgery and that in the control group (P<0.01).There was no statistical difference in the content of hemoglobin between the two groups before and after surgery (P>0.05).The Self-Depression Scale (SDS) score and Self-Anxiety Scale (SAS) score was lower in the observation group than in the control group 1 month post surgery (P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score between the two groups 24 hours post surgery (P>0.05);the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group days 3,7 and 10 post surgery (P<0.01);and there was significant difference in the VSA score between the two groups 1 month post surgery (P>0.05).The incidence rate of complications was 8.46% in the observation group, lower than that of the control group (P<0.05),which was 22.22%.Conclusions Evidence-based nursing can reduce the pain and the incidence rate of complications postoperatively in patients with thoracic cancer, improve the content of albumin in the patients' body, and ameliorate their negative emotions such as anxiety and depression, which is worth promoting in clinical practice.
