Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of knowledge, belief, practice model on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in female burn patients. Methods Totally 126 female burn patients admitted in Yancheng City No.1 People's Hospital between August 2015 and August 2017 were selected by convenient sampling and divided into two groups (n=63) according to the random number table. Patients in the control group received conventional nursing care, while patients in the observation group received nursing interventions based on knowledge, belief, practice model. The Clinician-Administered PTSD Scal (CAPS) was used to evaluate the effects of the interventions. Results There were no statistical differences in the total score and the scores in all dimensions of CAPS before the intervention (P>0.05), while the observation have lower scores than the control group in re-experience, numbness/withdrawal, over-vigilance and total CAPS score 3 months post the intervention (P<0.01). Conclusions Nursing interventions based on knowledge, belief, practice model can effectively ameliorate PTSD in female burn patients, which is worth promoting in clinical practice.
