Abstract:
Objective To explore the application of quality control circle in reducing the incidence of irritating cough when performing extubation after operation. Methods The quality control circle was set up in July to December 2017 and the quality control circle activities with the theme of reducing the incidence of irritating cough during extubation, including preliminary status survey, data collection, setting goals, analyzing the causes of irritant cough after extubation, formulating countermeasures and implementation. A total of 137 patients who received removal of endotracheal intubation between July 1st to 30th of 2017 (before the activity) were chosen as the control group. A total of 225 patients who received removal of endotracheal intubation were selected as control group from November 1st to 30th of 2017 (after the activity). The incidence of irritating cough when performing extubation after operation was compared. Results The incidence of irritating cough when performing extubation after operation in control group was 81.75%, while that in observation group was 31.55%. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Quality control circle can standardize the operation procedure of tracheal intubation after clinical operation, reduce the incidence of irritating cough when performing extubation after operation, and improve the quality of patients security management.
