Abstract:
Objective To explore the current situation of illness uncertainty and its influencing factors among postoperative patients with colorectal cancer. Methods From June 2015 to October 2017, we selected 140 patients with colorectal cancer surgery of a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital of Heilongjiang Province by purposive sampling as subjects. All of the patients were investigated with the general information questionnaire, Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale Adult (MUIS-A), Social Support Revalued Scale (SSRS). Results The average score of MUIS-A of postoperative patients with colorectal cancer was (106.32±10.33) with a middle level. The influencing factors of illness uncertainty of postoperative patients with colorectal cancer included education levels, whether or not to be with enterostomy, complications and to learn about their illness as well as social support (P<0.05). Conclusions Postoperative patients with colorectal cancer are with a middle level of illness uncertainty influenced by many factors. Health care providers should take individual intervention according to patients' actual situation.
