Abstract:
Objective? To explore the psychological detachment and its correlation with caregiver burden in caregivers of cancer patients. Methods?A total of 147 caregivers of cancer patients in hospital were investigated with the general information questionnaire, Psychological Detachment Scale, Zarit Burden Interview. Results? There were 57.14% of caregivers with a high level of psychological detachment and 42.86% caregivers with a low level of psychological detachment. Correlation analysis showed that the total score of psychological detachment of caregivers had a negative correlation with the total score of caregiver burden (r=-0.306, P<0.05) and had a negative correlation with the score of social burden (r=-0.285, P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that the independent influencing factors of caregivers' psychological detachment included whether to care for patients with others, family monthly income, the time for taking after patients every day, working situation, the score of social burden. Conclusions?Caregivers of cancer patients are with a low level of psychological detachment in non-caregiving time. Nurses should assess patients and caregivers synchronously to understand caregivers' care burden and psychological restoration, guide caregivers to stop thinking about things related to patients in non-caregiving time so as to obtain recovery of mind and body resources.
