Abstract: Objective To explore the nursing behavior expectation of the patients in the observation room of Emergency Department using qualitative analysis. Methods Using the phenomenological research method in qualitative analysis, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted among the 27 cases of patients in the observation room of Emergency Department to describe personal emergency treatment experience and capture the real feeling. The data were explored by reading, analysis, reflection, classification, extraction and induction according to Colaizzi analysis. Results Finally, 8 themes were refined, including: medical treatment environment, disease notification, transposition thinking, emotional support, nursing technology, information transmission, health education and behavior etiquette. Conclusions To establish the research ideas and methods based on the patients, to understand the real experience of emergency patients and to take targeted nursing measures can further promote the improvement of emergency nursing behavior.
