Abstract:
Objective To eplore the influences of reading therapy on self-efficacy and coping style of nurses in cancer hospitals. Methods From January 2016 to January 2017, a total of 60 nurses were recruited to attend reading therapy training by purposive sampling method. All the participants were assessed by General Self-efficacy Scale and Coping Style Questionnaire before and after the training. Results After the training, the scores of self-efficacy of the nurses increased from (2.57±0.51) to (2.78±0.44), and the difference was statistically significant (t=-2.415, P=0.017). The scores of solving-problem, seeking for help and fantasy sub-scales after reading therapy training were (0.84±0.11), (0.78±0.13) and (0.38±0.20), and those before training were (0.73±0.18), (0.63±0.19) and (0.47±0.14), the differences were statistically significant (t=-4.039, -5.047, 2.856; P<0.01). Conclusions Reading therapy can significantly improve the self-efficacy and mature coping style of nurses in cancer hospitals, and promote the development of mental health.
