Abstract:
Objective To explore the current situation and the relationship of social support with social function in breast cancer patients after mastectomy. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted in 100 patients with breast cancer from July 2015 to November 2016 using the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and the Social Function Deficiency Screening Scale (SFDSS). Pearson correlation test was used to investigate the relationship between social support and social function. Results The total score of SSRS and the average score of SFDSS was (33.46±5.28) and (1.86±0.67), respectively. The overall score of SSRS, subjective support and the availability of support showed a negative relationship with social functional deficiency (P< 0.05). Conclusions It is beneficial to help understand and take advantage of social support in patients with breast cancer after breast mastectomy so that to improve their social function and quality of life.
