Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of PDCA circulation in improving quality of intravenous infusion. Methods Nurses accepted a standardized training of intravenous infusion with the method of PDCA circulation based on the Policies and Procedures for Infusion Therapy published by Intravenous Nurses Society in 2016. Inpatients with infusion in the Peking University Third Hospital in June 2016 and November 2016 acted as the study subjects. This study compared the problems of intravenous infusion and the problems of intravenous infusion in the intensive monitoring wards before and after training. Results After training, there was a statistically significant difference in comparing problems of intravenous infusion (P< 0.05). The problems of intravenous infusion in the intensive monitoring wards reduced with no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusions The application of PDCA circulation can improve the quality of intravenous infusion.
