Abstract:
Objective To explore the status quo and the influencing factors of the core competence of nursing undergraduates. Methods In August 2016, a total of 183 undergraduate nursing students who practiced in a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital in Wuhan were selected by convenience sampling method. All the nursing students were surveyed by Competency Inventory for Nursing Students (CINS), General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES) and Measure Scale of Autonomous Learning Competencies. Results The total scores of CINS, GSES and Measure Scale of Autonomous Learning Competencies were (4.07±0.32), (2.57±0.50) and (3.57±0.27) respectively. Family location, professional volunteering, general self-efficacy and self-learning ability were the factors influencing the core competence of nursing undergraduates (P< 0.05). Conclusions According to the characteristics of nursing students, nursing educators and managers should take corresponding measures to improve their core competence by improving their self-efficacy and autonomous learning ability.
