Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the effect of music therapy in vitrectomy patients under local anesthesia. Methods A total of 200 patients undergoing vitrectomy from September to December 2016 in Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College were recruited by cluster sampling method, and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 100 cases in each. Routine preoperative visit and intraoperative care were given to the control group. Besides routine care, the observation group was given preoperative personalized music intervention from 10 minutes before the surgery to the end. Vital signs, patients' compliance and pain scores were compared between the two groups. Results The heart rate and systolic blood pressure of the observation group patients were significantly lower than the control group (P< 0.05). While surgery compliance was higher than the control group (P<0.05), and the pain score was lower than the control group (P<0.05). All of the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions Music intervention in perioperative period can effectively improve vitrectomy patients cooperate compliance, and reduce the patients pain score.
