Abstract: Sarcopenia, a common complication of cirrhosis, has an incidence rate as high as 40% ~ 70%. Furthermore, adverse events such as shortened survival, lower quality of life, prolonged hospital stay, increased complications, a higher mortality rate, and sometimes altering the liver transplantation prognostic outcome in patients with liver cirrhosis are closely related. In recent years, some progress has been made in the research on the treatment of sarcopenia, but there is no clear treatment plan at present; thus, research and development by researchers and clinicians still need to be strengthened. This article briefly describes the relevant treatment methods for sarcopenia in patients with cirrhosis.
