Abstract:
Objective To explore the application effect of doctor-nurse health education in women with cervical cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods Totals of 214 women with cervical cancer who received chemotherapy from November 2014 to November 2016 were collected in this study. According to the random number table, the participants were divided into control group and observation group, 107 cases in each group. The control group received routine health education while the observation group received the combined health education from both doctors and nurses. The health behavior scale and questionnaire were used to investigate their health behaviors and satisfaction level at six months after the intervention. The self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to evaluate their anxiety and depression status before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, the observation group had a significantly higher score of health behavior compared with the control group [(122.6±5.1) vs. (94.1±4.6); t=2.416, P=0.014]. The satisfaction level was significantly higher in the observation group compared with the control group (79.4% vs. 45.8%; χ2=4.893, P=0.031). Conclusions The combined health education from both doctors and nurses can effectively promote the health behaviors and satisfaction level in patients with cervical cancer undergoing chemotherapy.
