Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of Kegel exercise combined with acupoint therapy on bladder function recovery in patients after the surgery of cervical carcinoma. Methods A total of 55 patients with cervical cancer who received laparoscopic radical hysterectomy, bilateral salpingooophorectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy at Wuxi Maternity and Child Health Hospital from January 2014 to February 2016. Those patients were divided into control group (n=22, routine indwelling catheter nursing) and observation group (n=33, routine indwelling catheter nursing + Kegel exercise combined with acupoint therapy) according to admission time. The success rate of autonomous urination for the first time after removing catheter, the rate of failure to pull out the catheter, the rate with catheter at discharge and the time of indwelling catheter was compared between two groups. Results There were 13 patients with smoothly autonomous urination after removing catheter for the first time and 9 patients with catheter returning home in control group, while there were 31 patients with smoothly autonomous urination after removing catheter for the first time and one patients with catheter returning home in observation group with significant differences between two groups (χ2=10.02, 12.73; P<0.05). The average time of indwelling catheter was (452.00±246.54) h in observation group and (253.56±86.02) h in control group with a significant difference (t=2.63, P<0.05). Conclusions The Kegel exercise combined with acupoint therapy can obviously improve the bladder function recovery in patients after the surgery of cervical carcinoma.
