Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of the health education and nursing pattern based on the transtheoretical model on self-care behavior of patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) complicated with heart failure. Methods Totally 168 patients with NSCLC complicated with heart failure admitted by the Fourth Hospital of Qinhuangdao were selected and randomly divided into two groups. Patients who received intervention with the health education and nursing pattern based on the transtheoretical model were divided into an observation group, while patients who were treated with the conventional health education and nursing pattern were divided into a control group, with 84 patients in each group. The changes in the self-care behavior and quality of life of the patients in the two groups were observed before and after the intervention. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the indicators of self-care behavior and quality of life between the patients in the two groups before the intervention (P>0.05), while after the intervention, the patients in the observation group showed higher scores in self-care support (59.67±12.89), self-care management (70.21±11.24), self-care confidence (67.98±13.21), physical condition (22.78±5.32), emotional condition (16.45±4.38) and functional condition (16.79±6.22) as well as a higher total score (122.36±16.78) than the patients in the control group (t=7.79,8.26,5.28,4.26,4.28,3.84,5.32;P<0.05). Conclusions The health education and nursing pattern based on the transtheoretical model can effectively improve the self-care behavior and quality of life in patients with NSCLC complicated with heart failure, which is worthy of application.
