Abstract:
Objective To explore the influencing factors of intra-hospital transportation adverse events in 567 elderly critically ill emergency patients and offer references of the intra-hospital transportation for elderly critically ill patients. Methods With the convenience sampling method, elderly critical ill patients who were hospitalized in the Emergency Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 1, 2016 to December 31,2016 were selected. They were transported based on the intra-hospital transportation standard of intra-hospital elderly critically ill patients and the adverse events in the process of the transportation were analyzed. Results There were 181 patients with adverse events in the process of the transportation (accounted for 31.9% of the total number). The occurrence of adverse events was not associated with the gender, the age, the transportation duration and the targeted department. There were no significant differences (χ2=1.59,0.13,0.00,7.73;P>0.05). The occurrence of adverse events was significantly associated with the disease classification and the NEWS score (χ2=11.78,4.58;P<0.05).Conclusions The incidence of adverse events in the intra-hospital transportation of elderly critically ill emergency patients is high, which should be paid attention to. The nurses in the emergency department should evaluate the disease classification and the NEWS of the patients scientifically before the transportation, in order to guarantee the transportation security of the elderly patients.
