Abstract: Objective To explore the method of improving the accuracy of the spinal nerve motor function assessment in the training of orthopedic specialized nurses.Methods The specialized quality team and evaluation guidelines were set up in March 2016. The nurses' qualification of spinal nerve motor function assessment was trained and evaluated. The nurses' accuracy of the spinal nerve motor function assessment before the method application (March 2016) was compared to after the method application (July 2016).Results After the evaluation, the nurses' accuracy of the spinal nerve motor function assessment was significantly improved from 77.6% (458/590)to 95.6%(526/550)(χ2=78.161,P<0.01).Conclusions In the orthopedic specialized nurse training, the establishment of the spinal nerve motor function evaluation method and its application can improve the nurses' accuracy of the spinal nerve motor function assessment.
